I’ve never danced before can I still come and try?

Of course! We suggest starting out at the beginning of the month as each class tends to add more and get more complex during the course of the month. But we have a very welcoming friendly mode of instruction at Esquina. We’re here to teach you but most importantly for you to have a good time doing it.

Do I need to bring someone with me for partner dances?

Nope! No partner necessary, come solo and meet new friends, we switch up partners during the partner dances so everyone gets to meet new people and learn from each other.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

That will depend on the class you like to take. Generally partner dancing is good to have shoes that slide on the floor and that hold your foot in. Other classes like salsa aerobics, samba, belly dance and Afro-Cuban tend to be done barefooted or with dance sneakers.

Does my 4 class pass transfer to the next month if I miss a class?

No, it does not. The 4 classes only qualifies for the month in which you bought it in. Same goes for the unlimited pass, it expires at the end of the same calendar month.

What does the unlimited pass get me?

You can take all of our classes, both dance and language in the same month you buy the pass in! This does not include classes taught by Inspired Movement on Tuesday nights, as they have their own price packages. The unlimited pass also excludes any of our workshops.

Are there class discounts?

Yes we have discounts on membership and on our unlimited month packages for full time High School & University students, senior citizens (50+), and neighbors in the 78702 &  78721 zip code.

What does my membership get me?

The membership fee is tax deductible. It gets you the membership discounted prices on all our classes and events! This does not include classes taught by Inspired Movement on Tuesday nights, as they have their own price packages.

Does the membership fee last the calendar year?

The membership year kicks in on the day you buy it so will expire exactly 365 after you purchased it. We’ll send you an email when your membership is coming up for renewal!

How do I know if I’m ready to move up to the next level?

Ask your instructor if you feel like you’re ready to challenge yourself more and they’ll tell you.

I feel like I could benefit from one on one classes, do you offer private instruction?

Yes we do! Email us at info@esquinatangoaustin.com and we’ll give you the details of the instructor that teaches the type of dance you’d like to work one on one in.

We always love help to keep Esquina running smoothly! You can volunteer, intern, or become involved in our work-trade program. Esquina is such a cool studio space, can I rent it out for an event?

Why yes you can! When we’re not busy teaching and practicing we offer the studio to rent, email info@esquinatangoaustin.com for rates and available dates.
