Born and raised in Salvador, Bahia, Dandha has been a member of Ile Aiye, one of Brazil’s most important musical and cultural institutions, since she was 6 years old. She is bringing the incredible spirit of Salvador and of Ile Aiye to Austin, Texas to teach an Afro-Brazilian & Samba dance class and you're invited! A master dancer as well as vocalist and percussionist, Dandha honors the incredible gifts of her culture everytime she performs. As a lead dancer with Ile Aiye and lead vocals of music group Sambada based in Santa Cruz, California, Dandha has shared the stage with Brazilian stars such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Daniela Mercury. So get ready to move your body and feel the energy that Dandha  is bringing to Austin for the first time!

What to wear:
Comfortable workout or dance wear is suggested. No special footwear is required for this class; students can dance in bare feet, dance/jazz sneakers, or lightweight tennis shoes, depending on preference.
