| Artist Information: Check Juanito's Website National Public Radio calls Jonathan "Juanito" Pascual "one of the hottest flamenco guitarists to emerge in recent years." A virtuoso player and original composer, he has forged a unique style blending an array of styles from rock to jazz to classical, together with his mastery of traditional and contemporary flamenco.
Juanito holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Boston's New England Conservatory, where he now directs an intensive summer flamenco workshop. He maintains an active touring schedule including recent performances in Holland, Panama, Mexico, Spain and Canada in addition to frequent U.S. concerts dates. He has collaborated with a lengthy list of top flamenco artists from Spain and the U.S. in addition to collaborations with such diverse artists as Grammy-winners soprano Dawn Upshaw, bassist John Patittucci (of Chick Corea's band), pianist Danilo Perez (of the Wayne Shorter Quartet) and percussionist Jamey Haddad (of Paul Simon's group).
Juanito has released 2 CDs of all original flamenco compositions, Cosas en Comun (2003) and Language of the Heart (2009) and is celebrating the January 2011 release of a new flamenco method book The Total Flamenco Guitarist by Alfred Publishing. His music has been heard in film, radio and television around the world and he made his on screen debut with a brief appearance in the 2009 film The Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin.
