No experience or partner necessary. Fun easy dances to learn! What to wear, what to bring:
Wear clothes that you can move and sweat in. Bring your dancing shoes!
Any shoe that does not grip to the floor but stays on your feet. |

Bachata & NY Salsa On2 Workshop Saturday, September 25th 4 - 5 pm: Bachata – Int Level
Learn new combinations, standard and Dominican Style along with footwork that will blow your socks off!
5:15 - 6:45 pm: NYC Salsa On2 - Beg Level
* First half hour – Intro to Music Structure: This first part is a sit down lecture. Learn the basics of salsa music and its structure to prepare you to learn how to train your ear and dance On2. Find out what terms like, “forward and reverse clave” mean and why they are important to know. Find out how and why musicality will make you a better dancer.
* Last Hour – Intro to On2: In this intense workshop, learn how to dance On2, the basics, turns, partnering and some hot choreography you can use in the club. Price per class per person:

Silva Technique WorkshopSunday, March 21st, 2-4 pm Leandro da Silva will teach a workshop in Silva Technique, a unique fusion of modern dance and capoeira (an Afro-Brazilian martial art form). This workshop is designed for multiple levels of experience. Leandro will be introducing Silva Technique to Austin for the first time, don’t miss out on this cross-border fusion of traditional and modern! Examples of Silva Technique: Silva 1, Silva 2, Silva 3

| About Leandro Da Silva ("Professor Alegria"): born in Salvador, Bahia (Brazil), Professor Alegria currently lives in New York City (NY), where he teaches capoeira (an Afro-Brazilian martial art incorporating dance and acrobatics) and Silva Technique, his own unique blend of capoeira and contemporary dance. Leandro will be introducing Silva Technique to Austin for the first time on March 21 at Esquina Tango. Don’t miss out on this cross-border fusion of traditional and modern!
A professionally trained dancer of various styles and capoeirista, Leandro da Silva has toured internationally for several years as a member of the highly acclaimed company Dance Brazil (NY/Bahia), Brazarte Dance Company (Miami-FL), Cleo Parker Robinson Dance (Denver-CO), Orquestra Popular da Bahia (Brazil), and Ballethnic Dance Company (Atlanta-GA). He has also participated as director and choreographer of National Black Arts Festival (Atl-GA) and assistant choreographer of So You Think You Can Dance (Canada).
| About Janete Silva: Janete’s last workshop packed the studio to capacity, so we’re offering two classes and two levels this time! Her classes focus on a fun and exciting blend of traditional Afro-Brazilian dance traditions (samba, samba reggae, axé, dances of the orixás). This workshop will be an excellent introduction to the wide range of styles that characterize Brazilian dance.
Janete Silva has studied dance since childhood and has performed with various local and international companies such as Dance Brazil (NY), Bale Folclórico da Bahia (Brazil), Bahia Brazil (Los Angeles), Orquestra Popular da Bahia (Brasil) and Freddiek Bratcher and Company (Miami). She currently teaches Afro-Brazilian dance in New York City.

In this class, students will learn several related couples‚ dances: Forró, Xote, and Marchinha. Forró is incredibly happy music and the dances are accessible to newcomers. No partner needed. Anyone who is willing to have some fun while dancing, learn a little footwork and how to move to a partner so next Brazilian party you can have even more fun!. All levels welcome, no prior experience required.

Upon completion of these workshops the students will have a broader vision of certain acting techniques. A better understanding of improvisation and a roadmap of how to put themselves on the market, put together a resume and find artistic representation. Workshops include:
Meet the screenplay - a practical guide to learn how to breakdown a script, identify characters and objectives.
Improv - Action / Reaction as a basis for improvisation. Perception as a tool of improvisation.
Actors and Directors - A View from the standpoint of the actor and director to understand both sides of the acting process.
How to become a professional actor - introduction to the resources required to audition and get artistic representation
