FAQ for Outdoor Classes & Events

  • FAQ

    • How do I register for outdoor classes?
      • Pre-registration is required for all outdoor classes. You can sign up on our website through WellnessLiving. It’s on a first come, first serve basis.
      • In addition to your reservation, you must also sign our new Health and Safety Code of Conduct, which you can find here.
      • BOTH pre-registration AND the signed Health Code must be done. You only need to sign the Health Code once. Note once booked, there are no refunds.
    • Are classes solo? For partners? Virtual?
      •  The classes will have either SOLO, PARTNER, or VIRTUAL in the title.
      • If it’s SOLO (ex. Samba, Salsa Aerobics,) it is 1 person per platform, 1 reservation per person. Max capacity of 10 in the class.
      •  If it’s PARTNER this class will require PAIRS/PARTNERS, with 2 people per platform, still 1 reservation per person. This means YOU are responsible for finding a partner to share your platform with, and both of you must make individual reservations in Wellness Living. Max capacity is 20, with 10 partners total.
      • As of 10/22, we are now allowing mixed PARTNER and SOLO classes. If it’s in the title of the class, you can have a partner (must also register), or do the class solo. Partners get their own platform, solos get their own platform.
      • If it’s VIRTUAL, that means the class will be via Zoom, and you will be emailed a link to log in.
      • You can look at the schedule here for all outdoor classes.
    • Can I purchase at the door?
      • For the safety of everyone, all reservations must be pre-registered online prior to class. You may purchase your reservation through our site with Wellness Living. Our front desk will not be handling payment for their safety. If there are still spots available close to class time, you may sign up on our website through your mobile.
    • What are the class prices?
      • The prices and options are the following:
      • 1 Drop in Single Class $18.50 non-member/$15.50 member.
      • 4 Class Session $61.80 non-member/$51.50 member.
    • Oh no, the class is full! Is there a waitlist? How does it work?
      • Yes! Still sign up through Wellness Living and there is an option to be put on the Wait list. If a spot opens up, you will be immediately notified.
      • In order to do a Waitlist booking, you MUST choose a purchase option if you do NOT already have an existing pass/session credit. This means you will be charged if you do not have an existing pass/session already.
      • If you have an existing pass (ex. 4 class pass), are put on a waitlist, and do NOT get into the class, your session is credited back to your Wellness account. You can use it for another class.
      • If you are doing 1 drop-in session or new 4 class pass, you will be charged even if put on the wait list. However, if you do not get into the class, the session will be credited back to your Wellness account (not refunded). You are free to book another class from your Wellness account. If you do not plan on using that session after all, please email info@esquinatangoaustin.com for a refund.
    • What is Wellness Living?
      • This is the software we’re using for class management. You must have a profile to register. If you are not sure if you have an account, you can create one or check your credentials by logging in here
    • I’m ready to do regular classes, what are my options?
      • We are currently only offering for outdoor classes 4 class passes, and drop-in for both members and non-members.
    • What is the membership?
      • Esquina offers a membership that allows you to get incentives such as reduced rates for classes, and member only events. Consider our membership, inquire here for more details.
    • What if I can’t make it to class?
      • Because of the limited capacity, we require you cancel at least 24 hours in advance. You can do so from your account on Wellness Living. Otherwise, your spot will be forfeited and your reservation will still be charged.
    • What about bad weather? Class cancellations?
      • If class is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, emailed will be sent to students. Students will be able to redeem credit towards a different class. Refund can be issued upon request.
    • How do outdoor events work?
      • Outdoor events like concerts and socials are done through Cognito, a form you have to fill out. Reservations are per platform with a maximum of 4 people. Your reservation should be with people you trust and are comfortable with. For dancing events, you may only dance on your platform with the people on your reservation.
    • Can I register my partner?
      • Your partner can also attend, as long as they do a reservation in Wellness.  Just like your reservation, they book a spot separately under their Wellness Living account. When checking in, you can indicate to the front desk who’s your partner.
    • What should I wear?
      • Shoe wear is required for all classes. Since classes are outdoors, please dress appropriately and comfortably. For high intensity classes like Salsa Aerobics or Samba, work out clothes are fine. For partner dancing like tango or salsa, clothes that you can move in are fine.
    • What about masks?
      • You must wear a mask entering/exiting the premises, or anytime off the platform. Once on the platform though, you may take it off if you’re comfortable.
    • How early can I arrive/how late can I stay?
      • We ask not earlier than 10 minutes before class time. When class ends, we ask to immediately exit to allow clean-up time for our staff.
    • Can my kid/friend/etc. wait around while I take class?
      • We ask only the people on the reservation be present. Otherwise, we kindly ask for them to wait in the car or outside the premises.
